@agent0smith
okay so it says pi/3 or pi/6 how do i know which one?
Just multiply the angle, which was 60, by pi/180 \[\large 60 * \frac{ \pi }{ 180 }\]
danno i need the correct words, pwease use radians and degrees
60 degrees * pi radians /180 degrees
whats the difference between radians and degrees?
Degrees are more like percentages, which is why radians are more useful But they're just different units. There's 360 degrees in a circle, and 2pi radians in a circle
what
example pls
That is an example... 2pi radians = 360 degrees 1 radian is equal to about 57 degrees.
pi/something=radian?
No, that's just the conversion factor. To convert degrees to radians, you multiply by pi radians/180 degrees
1 radian is equal to the length of the radius of a circle. Like this http://www.softmath.com/tutorials-3/cramer%E2%80%99s-rule/articles_imgs/2146/radian1.gif
why are all the radians pi over __ then?
Just to keep them exact. Those are only the exact ones. There's plenty of non-exact ones, like 0.15 radians or 5.4 radians etc
oki thanks
And cos most of the exact ones are fractions of 180. Like 60 degrees is 180/3 pi radians is equal to 180 degrees, so pi/3 radians is the same as 60 degrees
