Is gay or lesbian right or wrong? Every if your a (Christian) I don't know why but some people think it is okay.

OpenStudy (qwertty123):

In the bible it say ONLLY between a man and a woman... not the same gender!

OpenStudy (qwertty123):

@Roxy.girl @AloneS @Wendy.Ivette11714 @KendrickLamar2014 @just_one_last_goodbye

OpenStudy (roxy.girl):

I agree with yew!

OpenStudy (qwertty123):

Most Christian authorities and bodies view marriage (also called Holy Matrimony) as a state instituted and ordained by God for the lifelong relationship between one man as husband and one woman as wife. They consider it the most intimate of human relationships, a gift from God, and a sacred institution. If you read the bible...But in this day in age it seems like it doesn't matter anymore... (I think is VERY sad) We also can be whatever gender we feel like.. About that... That means Science is wrong then.. SO if I am a girl but then say no I was never a girl I was a guy.. That means Science got it wrong from the beginning. So Science will just go down... Need input! :D

OpenStudy (aaronandyson):

It's kind of Genetic guys.

OpenStudy (qwertty123):

so then our Genetics is wrong?

OpenStudy (tanner23456):

Ok, here's the explanation that I've seen to be the most accurate. Sin is sin no matter the form. I believe there are people that are born with temptations towards things greater than others. For example, there are some who are more prone to becoming an alcoholic when they drink a little alcohol. Very similarly I think those who claim to be homosexual have greater temptation towards those tendencies. Don't get me wrong, having a temptation towards something doesn't make you a sinner, but once you act on those things then surely you have sinned. Similarly, God has warned against fornication which is essentially sexual relations outside of marriage. When we act on those temptations, homosexual or not, surely we have sinned. The point is everyone is going to have different temptations, and everyone is going to act on those things to a certain extent. The purpose of this life is for everyone to prepare to meet God again. No one can pass through this life without passing through sin and temptation, but our loving Heavenly Father made a way for us to repent and overcome those things. Just because people fall short of the glory of God, we shouldn't ostracize them from our societies, but just as well, we shouldn't condone their sins. We should encourage all to strive to be more like Christ.

OpenStudy (aveline):

@Qwertty123 I'm not really sure what your question is. It just looks like you are stating your opinion.

OpenStudy (aveline):

To me this just looks homophobic

OpenStudy (tanner23456):

Calling someone homophobic is the biggest cop out. Especially in the religious community. Having aversion to any sort of sin is a defining characteristic of being a christian or any other religious denomination for that matter. Though we should have aversion to sin, we shouldn't have aversion to people. Homophobia in definition , aversion to homosexuality, isn't wrong. Just as it's not wrong to have aversion to any other sin. The problem is people begin to infer that being homophobic is the same as condemning a person to damnation. When, in fact, Christianity is meant to do the very opposite. Aversion to sin is not equivalent to aversion to an individual. We should help and encourage all to overcome any sin and be more like Jesus Christ who was the great exemplar in all things.

OpenStudy (aveline):

"Calling someone homophobic is the biggest cop out." You just admitted that you were homophobic; you have an "aversion" to homosexuals. I could argue all day about this topic, but know that God loves all homosexual people. He created them that way. What is wrong with two people loving each other? There is no harm in homosexuality.

OpenStudy (emily61499):

science never got anything wrong. being gay is completely natural...stop trying to justify your homophobia with the Bible.

OpenStudy (tanner23456):

Please don't ignore the entirety of my statement. I have an aversion to homosexuality just as God does and just has he does to every other sin. I don't, however, have an aversion to homosexuals. No individual should be despised because of their choices. I'm not the eternal judge of them. And God doesn't hate anyone for sinning. He never has and He never will just as I don't hate homosexuals. However, he despises the sin as it takes His children away from Him. Does that make more sense? I'm trying to be as clear as I possibly can.

OpenStudy (tanner23456):

Also, Just because something is "natural", doesn't mean God approves of it. The natural man in his carnal and fallen state cannot discern the things of God.

OpenStudy (aveline):

Okey-dokey homophobe

OpenStudy (tanner23456):

Thank you for your highly intelligent rebuttal. I'm now rethinking everything I know to be true...

OpenStudy (emily61499):

okey dokey

rebeccaxhawaii (rebeccaxhawaii):

My view is very complicated.
