OpenStudy (normanc):

Solve 4 * 7[2 - (-6)]

OpenStudy (sagewilson):

First you need to do what's in the parentheses, 2 - (-6), this would give you what?

OpenStudy (normanc):

8

OpenStudy (wcrmelissa2001):

so now you have 4*7(8) Brackets come first so solve the bracket stuff and you get? But in this case since it's all multiplying the order doesn't really matter. Just like how order doesn't matter for addition

OpenStudy (normanc):

Thanks

OpenStudy (sagewilson):

Try doing 4 * 7 first then multiply the answer to that by 8.

OpenStudy (sagewilson):

Sorry for taking so long to respond,my wifi is terrible.

OpenStudy (sagewilson):

Anyways what did you get?

OpenStudy (normanc):

224. I realize it's very basic but that was part of a longer problem I had gotten wrong and didn't understand why. The problem was with another part. Thanks anyways
