OpenStudy (juan1857):

Use synthetic division to find P(-2) for P(x)=x^4+9x^3-9x+2

OpenStudy (sunnnystrong):

Well, to use synthetic division the polynomial needs to have all degrees. It all needs to be divided by a factor in the form (x-c) You can input -2 for the x value in the polynomial and f(-2) = -36

OpenStudy (sunnnystrong):

also not all*

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

why in gods name would someone use synthetic division ?

OpenStudy (juan1857):

so what?

OpenStudy (drummergirl7):

Plz help me i have a hard question

OpenStudy (juan1857):

I don't think I'll know, but I can try

OpenStudy (drummergirl7):

Simplify. |–4.1|

OpenStudy (drummergirl7):

yay Thx im bad at math to lol

OpenStudy (juan1857):

I think for these you just find the absolute value which is 4.1

OpenStudy (drummergirl7):

ok

OpenStudy (drummergirl7):

Thank u :D

OpenStudy (juan1857):

but im not sure

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

you are correct

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

absolute value is just the positive version of the number, if the number is already positive than the absolute value is just itself. absolute value of 0 is 0
