OpenStudy (alinaa1024):

When Θ = 5 pi over 3, what are the reference angle and the sign values for sine, cosine, and tangent?

OpenStudy (alinaa1024):

@ThereisnoUsername

OpenStudy (thereisnousername):

multiply 5pi/3 by 180/pi to convert to degrees, what do you get

OpenStudy (alinaa1024):

300?

OpenStudy (thereisnousername):

yes! okay so what quadrant would 300 degrees be in?

OpenStudy (alinaa1024):

4th?

OpenStudy (thereisnousername):

yepp, okay if the angle is 300 degrees , what would the reference angle be in degrees?

OpenStudy (alinaa1024):

60?

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

@ThereisnoUsername 180/pi = ? bc. hope you know that the value of pi=180 bc. you know that pi/2 = 90 degree so in this way why is importantly dividing 180/pi ?

OpenStudy (thereisnousername):

yes!! haha okay so now you can convert that over when you multiply by pi/180, so you can plug theta = 5pi/3 into 2pi - theta and what do you get In terms of pi?

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

180/pi or pi/180 are equal 1

OpenStudy (alinaa1024):

im confused @ThereisnoUsername

OpenStudy (thereisnousername):

@jhonyy9 Pi doesn't equal any number of degrees because pi without a unit is just a number. The point is that pi radians is equal to 180 degrees

OpenStudy (thereisnousername):

okay, let me help you |dw:1464968628053:dw|

OpenStudy (thereisnousername):

it wont let me draw it so ill just explain,

OpenStudy (alinaa1024):

wait i think i got it would it be 1.047?

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

ok wait your explication --- ty.

OpenStudy (thereisnousername):

yes so pi over 3, cosine is positive, sine and tangent are negative would be the answer because everything is pi/3

OpenStudy (alinaa1024):

awesomeeee thank you, i have a couple more questions im going to open a new one and tag you

OpenStudy (thereisnousername):

okay :)
