f(x) = 9x^3 + 2x^2 - 5x + 4 and g(x) = 5x^3 - 7x + 4. What is f(x) - g(x)? Write your final answer in factored form. I would prefer to be walked through how to do this than given the answer. Thanks! :)

OpenStudy (thereisnousername):

factored form: "A factored form is a parenthesized algebraic expression. In effect a factored form is a product of sums of products … or a sum of products of sums … Any logic function can be represented by a factored form, and any factored form is a representation of some logic function" just in case if you didn't know the definition, okay so we have: f(x) = 9x^3 + 2x^2 - 5x + 4 g(x) = 5x^3 - 7x + 4. add the functions together: f(x)-g(x) = [9x^3+2x^2-5x+4] - [5x^3-7x+4] what do you get?

OpenStudy (anonymousasker):

4x^3 + 2x^2 + 2x?

OpenStudy (anonymousasker):

@ThereisnoUsername is that correct?

OpenStudy (thereisnousername):

yes i believe so

OpenStudy (anonymousasker):

@ThereisnoUsername is that the answer in factored form as well or would that be something different?
