What is the difference between explict and implict language
Okay, so it's always kind of confusing to learn about these two different types of languages, but I'm here to help. Let's start with implicit language. Implicit is, “implied or understood though not plainly or directly expressed.” This basically means that something is not directly stated, but it is still suggested somehow or necessary to effectuate the purpose For example, there are many good films that are known to have really complex themes and moral visions. The actual film does not say their theme, meaning, or moral vision, but it is understood by some of the audience by observing the characters, their actions, and other parts of the film such as sets and props. Same thing goes with writing. Another relatable example could be when someone who is lying winks at you, *implying* that you should go along with whatever lie they are saying. Explicit is, “to fully and clearly express something, leaving nothing implied.” So basically with explicit language, everything is fully expressed and demonstrating to make sure whoever needs to hear the message has a clear understanding. There should be no doubt or confusion in explicit language. So remember, Implicit is indirectly stated or implied. Explicit is directly stated and spelled out.
