Help??!! Will medal and fan What are the amplitude, period, phase shift, and midline of f(x) = 2 sin(x + π) − 4?
Answer choices: Amplitude: −4; period: 2 pi over 3; phase shift: x = −π; midline: y = 2 Amplitude: 2; period: 2 pi over 3; phase shift: x = 2π; midline: y = 2 Amplitude: 2; period: 2π; phase shift: x = −π; midline: y = −4 Amplitude: −4; period: 2π; phase shift: x = 2π; midline: y = −4
Okay, so according to the equation of asin(kt-c)+h a = amplitude c = phase shift h = vertical shift k = period
Do you know how to use that equation? Because this subject is NOT my forte, lol @sloppycanada
I was decent at it. So according to the formula, a = amplitude. Since it's asin, we can automatically assume that in this case, the amplitude is 2.
Ok, so it would either be B or C, where do I take it from there? @sloppycanada And can you help too? @Photon336
Generally speaking, the period of an equation of sin (unless otherwise given) is 2pi.
Alright, so I will go with C. Thanks!
Can you help me with another question? @sloppycanada
Compare the functions below: f(x) = 2x2 + 3x − 4
And the last function to compare is: h(x) x y −3 −8 −2 −6 −1 −4 0 −2 1 0 2 2 3 4
Which function has the largest y-intercept? f(x) g(x) h(x) All three functions have the same y-intercept.
I have no idea what it means by "largest" y-inctercept. I know that the y-intercept is where it crosses the y-axis. But I'm not sure what it means by "largest"
Which one has the highest y-intercept, as in the highest number as a y-intercept
Alright, I'm just gonna guess g(x) lol. Wish me luck XD
I'm actually thinking it's f(x) @Kimberly_PR
