OpenStudy (tmostiller):

identify the domain and range of the relation. ((-9,2),(-4,2), (3,2), (9,2)

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

The domain is simply the list of all possible inputs, or x values so you just list all the x coordinates and toss out any duplicates. Make sure to surround the list by curly braces

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

similarly, the range is the set of outputs or y values to form the range, list the y coordinates, toss out the duplicates and surround the list with curly braces

OpenStudy (tmostiller):

I am so confused right now. so confused

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

here is an example: let's say we're given the points (1,2),(7,5),(10,4) The domain would be {1,7,10} Notice how I listed the x coordinates The range would be {2,5,4} Notice how I listed the y coordinates

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

let me know if that example helps you find the answer
