Need help graphing this. I know the y goes on 2 but need help for where to put the x point. http://prntscr.com/bk82c4
Plot your first point at 2.
From there, go up 6 and right 1 since that's the slope. (rise over run)
When I computed it i got the other point at -0.333 like this http://prntscr.com/bk85p8
What do you mean by other point? The x axis..? Don't worry about that when you're graphing linear equations.
Desmos graphing calculator says its something like (-0.333,2) but i dont know how to graph -0.333 on the x axis
Don't graph it that way. Just start from (0,2) then go up 6, right 1.
Also go down 6, left 1. Same concept.
What if the slope was a fraction like 2/3x+5. I know the Y would be on 5 but how would i plot the 2/3
slope: rise/run slope: 2/3 rise 2, run 3 go up 2, right 3
Thanks. So if the slope is 4x, 5x etc it will always be rise 4 run 1, rise 5 run 1?
Yes!
