What is the slope of the line graphed by the equation y = (-⅓)x - 3? @pooja195 Can you help me real quick? ^.^
Hi :) Any ideas ?
Welp, I was thinking -3 but I'm not entirely sure of myself and I feel like I need a refresher on how I'm doing this.
y=mx+b m=slope b=y-intercept
^slope intercept form
-3 would be the y-intercept not the slope
So the (-⅓) part would be the slope, correct?
Yep :)
Okay, so y = m and m equals the (-⅓) . Why did you write b = y - intercept by the way?
Because b does equal the y-intercept in the slope intercept equation
So in this sense, I'd be saying that x = 3 because that b equals the y-intercept right?
You would be saying y=-3
-2, sorry. :P
Whoops! -3 Wrong key!
LOL xD
xD So, now that I have somewhat of an idea how I'm applying the numbers to the variables in the slope intercept formula, now I need a better understanding of how to solve. This part I tend to forget a lot and drive myself crazy over.
How to solve...?
Is this a different question?
No, no its the same question. But I though like we were supposed to solve for something. e.g like x and whatnot. Unless I'm getting mixed up with something else I learned which is totally possible. :O
thought*
lol nope. It's really simple, don't over think it
Yesh, thankchu Pooj ^.^
