Pre-Calculus Algebra v. College Trigonometry??

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

Hey everyone! I just wanted some advice from anybody who has taken Trigonometry and Pre-Calculus. I am contemplating taking either College Trigonometry or Pre-calculus Algebra. Honestly, I am better with numbers, so I feel that I would do well with Precalculus Algebra. But I know that I can do well with Trigonometry if I actually try as well. I have been told by some people that it would be better to take Trigonometry before Precalculus because Precalculus has Trigonometry, and I'd be able to understand it better if I already knew about Trigonometry. What would you recommend me taking first? If it helps, I am also looking to see which one would better help me explore the math there might be in Physics. Thank you so much!

OpenStudy (kl0723):

Trig First then Pre-Calc, that's how I was advised and how it seemed correctly to me, they're not difficult classes

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

@kl0723 Thank you! P.S.: If anyone else would like to share their opinion, feel welcome to. :)

zepdrix (zepdrix):

Agreed, trig first :D trig is the best thing ever, and it seems to relate to basic physics stuff more. I dunno, they're both great subjects.

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

@zepdrix Thank you! I have actually been told that Trig relates to physics more as well. :)

OpenStudy (kl0723):

welcome, and btw not sure if you're allowed to take pre-calc first in some colleges but some people do both at the same time, not sure how that sounds to you but i've seen some people do it

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

Oh, in the college that I'm at, as long as you have done and passed College Algebra, you're good to take whichever one you'd like. xP

OpenStudy (kl0723):

yeah, trig first is your best option, that's what i did and got a B in trig and A on pre-calc, i'd love to see an opinion from someone that took both at the same time or just pre-calc first then trig

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

I think both at the same time is a bit overwhelming, but some people can probably do it. xD
