(06.07 MC) Which expressions are equivalent to 3(x + 3y + 2x − y )? (1 point) 3(3x + 2y) and 9x + 6y 3(3x + 4y) and 9x + 12y 3(x + 4y) and 3x + 12y 3(x + 2y) and 3x + 6y

OpenStudy (hayisforhorses):

The first ones. You simply need to simplify the middle amount and then distribute.

OpenStudy (acespeedfighter):

so...

OpenStudy (acespeedfighter):

idk :/

OpenStudy (acespeedfighter):

how do i do this? :/

OpenStudy (hayisforhorses):

Work with the part in parenthesis first. x + 2x gives you 3x. 3y - y gives you 2y. The center now equals 3x+2y. But you cant forget about the *3, making it 3(3x+2y)

OpenStudy (acespeedfighter):

so x is 1

OpenStudy (hayisforhorses):

Then, you multiply 3x*3 getting 9x. And 2y*3 getting 6y.

OpenStudy (hayisforhorses):

x does not have a value. x=x

OpenStudy (acespeedfighter):

soso add 9x + 6y?

OpenStudy (hayisforhorses):

Kind of?

OpenStudy (hayisforhorses):

You are not giving x and y values

OpenStudy (acespeedfighter):

so 9 + 6?

OpenStudy (hayisforhorses):

@fopkate please try to explain, I'm not very good at it

OpenStudy (fopkate):

What is it that you do not understand?

OpenStudy (acespeedfighter):

neither am i ;-;
