I will give a medal and fan Maggie filled the glasses shown below completely with water. The total amount of water that Maggie poured into the glasses is 120 cubic centimeters. What is the height of glass 1? Round your answer to the nearest hundredths. (Use π = 3.14.) Note that all measurements are in centimeters and images are not drawn to scale. 3.03 centimeters 4.82 centimeters 5.64 centimeters 7.47 centimeters

you have a cylinder and a cone. volume of cylinder = pi r1^2 h1 volume of the cone = (1/3) pi r2^2 h2 the sum of these 2 equals 120 cm^3 form an equation and solve for h1

OpenStudy (welshfella):

r1 = 1/2 * 5.5 r2 = 1/2 * 5.2 and h2 = 6.8

OpenStudy (partyshotz2409):

ok

OpenStudy (partyshotz2409):

@welshfella can you help a little more

OpenStudy (welshfella):

heres the equation 3.14 * 2.75^2 * h1 + (1/3)* 3.14 *2.6^2* 6.8 = 120

OpenStudy (welshfella):

use you calulator to work out these multiplications first
