Need help with a trig problem please

OpenStudy (abbles):

\[\tan(Sin ^{-1}\frac{ x }{ 2 })\]

zepdrix (zepdrix):

Ooo these bad boys! These ones are always fun :D

OpenStudy (abbles):

Instructions say to find the exact value of the expression, no calculator. Oh yeah :) much fun.

OpenStudy (abbles):

Hahaha! I didn't recognize you with your changed picture. ZEPPPY

zepdrix (zepdrix):

Haha, ya Pooja stole my picture :D So I'm getting some payback or whatever.

OpenStudy (abbles):

Too funny xD

zepdrix (zepdrix):

\[\large\rm \tan\left(\color{orangered}{\arcsin\frac{x}{2}}\right)\]Work from the inside out. Recall that the inverse functions give us angles, ya? So this arcsine business is really just some angle, let's call it theta,\[\large\rm \color{orangered}{\arcsin\frac{x}{2}=\theta}\]

OpenStudy (abbles):

So we want to find the angle that gives us x/2 when we take the sine of said angle? sin(theta)=x/2 Correct?

zepdrix (zepdrix):

Ok great, good second step. From there draw a triangle.

OpenStudy (abbles):

I tried that... got x as the opposite side, 2 for the hypotenuse, and then 4 - x^2 as the other leg? Am I right?

zepdrix (zepdrix):

|dw:1468974609813:dw|square root of 4-x^2, ya?
