In a group of 50 patrons, 8 patrons like lattes and espressos, 12 patrons like espressos and cappuccinos, 9 patrons like lattes and cappuccinos, and 5 patrons like all 3 coffee drinks. Altogether, 20 patrons like lattes, 28 patrons like espressos, and 19 patrons like cappuccinos. How many patrons don't like any of these coffee drinks?

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

We are up to "5 like all 3 coffee drinks."

OpenStudy (guoalice8):

wait how did the 50 change to a 16?

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Let me do that step again. The number of people who like the different types of coffees come from the total of 50. As they are placed, we deduct from the 50.

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

5 people like all 3. |dw:1469479093261:dw|

OpenStudy (guoalice8):

oh thanks but when i add all the #'s i get something more then 50

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

L + E = 8 But we already have 5 of them in the groups who like all 3.
