@sweetburger
How was the Atlantic slave trade beneficial for merchants in Europe? A. They had a new market in West Africa for their manufactured goods. B. They improved relationships with merchant sailors. C. They had a source of free labor in the slaves they traded for. D. They lowered expenses with new materials gained from Africa.
I have no idea
http://www.unesco.org/new/en/social-and-human-sciences/themes/slave-route/transatlantic-slave-trade/ im reading from here. Seems like it wouldn't be D as the materials would be coming from america not africa. It wouldnt be C as the merchants were not directly receiving free labor.I don't think it could be A, as West Africa was from where they were taking the slaves from. Im guessing B. sorry im not 100% sure @AloneS . I read the whole article and thats all i could determine.
It's fine, thanks for helping me out (:
wait. http://www.understandingslavery.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=369&Itemid=145 This article does state that Europeans buyers were purchasing slaves. It is possible it could be answer choice C. which would make more sense imo.
sorry again :/ history isnt my strongest subject
Lol sweet, i'll see, which one makes the most. But thanks lol x'D
np and gl :P
I lush History you shoulda asked meh xD
It's probably D since there were already free slaves called endentured servants. Also, the U.S. used native Americans for free labour though they weren't as good working long hours in the sun. Another thing, we got gold and other resources from Africa. I'm thinking sugar or salt was the biggest thing, but the U.S. also took over Hawaii for the same resources.
Imperialism. It's called imperialism. Had to look it up xD
