Help , really don't know how to do this

zarkam21 (zarkam21):

OpenStudy (daniellelovee):

First we find the length of the arc XY by noticing that a full circle is 360 but since the line is passing through the middle of the circle it is being divided by 2....therefore 360/2=180 after that we subtract the arc that we already have

zarkam21 (zarkam21):

84?

OpenStudy (daniellelovee):

correct

zarkam21 (zarkam21):

thats not even an answer choice

OpenStudy (daniellelovee):

i know lol we are not done yet, now we apply common sense

zarkam21 (zarkam21):

oh okay lol

OpenStudy (daniellelovee):

since 84 is very similar to a 90 degree angle we can assume that the other two sides will be about 40something just because a 90 degree triangle (a.k.a right angle) is 45+45+90 in order to equal 180 which is the whole area of all triangles

zarkam21 (zarkam21):

Oh okay

OpenStudy (daniellelovee):

yes, if you have multiple choice is going to be about 45 or something similar if you don't then we are going to take this one step further in order to find the exact number....so my question is, do you have multiple choice?

zarkam21 (zarkam21):

64 196 32 96 192 48

zarkam21 (zarkam21):

these are the choices

OpenStudy (daniellelovee):

great! now you tell me which one is the most similar one to 45 :)

zarkam21 (zarkam21):

48

OpenStudy (daniellelovee):

you got it! :)

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

The proper way to do this, because what if the drawing wasn't to scale, is: |dw:1470984332763:dw| So basically <XYZ = 1/2 * 96 = 48
