Function help please
Let f(x) = 9x − 2 and g(x) = −x + 3. Find f(g(x)).
F(g(x)) means that you have to plug in the equation g(x) into f(x). its like f(4)= 9(4)-2. However, instead of just a number, you're plugging in an entire equation. Therefore, it would be f(g(x))= 9 (-x+3) -2
After that, you would just simplify, and then get your answer :)
continue please I'm kinda confused at this lesson
oh
do you understand or still need help?
let me try to simplift then
would the answer be -9x+25?
yep you got it
hold on I have one more question Let f(x) = 7x − 13. Find f−1(x). what does it mean to find f^-1x?
f^-1x is saying find the inverse of the equation
Is there anything else I need to know? The notes just confused me more
well you have to find the inverse of the equation if its asking you to find f^-1x. do you know how to do that?
yup I already got my answer x+13/7
alright then you're good to go
there's also another kind of question on my quiz Let f(x) = 2x + 2. Solve f−1(x) when x = 4. Do I just find the inverse and substitute x with 4?
im not 100% sure about that one, but that's most likely what you do
alright thanks
