Can someone please help me with this?! Explain the differences in language that might exist in a dramatic play like Romeo and Juliet and an essay such as John Muir's "The Calypso Borealis." How does language influence the work as a whole?

XDD its okay
@TheSmartOne We set sail on this new sea because there is new knowledge to be gained, and new rights to be won, and they must be won and used for the progress of all people. For space science, like nuclear science and all technology, has no conscience of its own. Whether it will become a force for good or ill depends on man, and only if the United States occupies a position of pre-eminence can we help decide whether this new ocean will be a sea of peace or a new terrifying theater of war. I do not say that we should or will go unprotected against the hostile misuse of space any more than we go unprotected against the hostile use of land or sea, but I do say that space can be explored and mastered without feeding the fires of war, without repeating the mistakes that man has made in extending his writ around this globe of ours. Which answer is a complete and correct summary of this paragrpah of Kennedy's speech? (4 points) Science cannot be expected to be moral or used for the good given history. Space exploration will inevitably lead to conflict and ultimately war. The United States is responsible for how the conquest of space is conducted. With caution against ill use, science can give us great knowledge and progress.
I think it's D...
same sorry I was afk :P
of its okay XD
xD
can you help me with another question
sure :)
Consider the following claim and counterclaim. Claim: The county school board should adopt a less strict absentee policy for students. Counterclaim: Evidence showing a connection between increased attendance and higher grades. Use the claim and counterclaim to create a thesis statement for a strong argument paper. (4 points)
I wrote: Even though higher attendance is evidence for higher grades, the attendance for students should not be so strict.
Well done :)
Thank you! I thought it was bad
A writer wants to develop an argument on the following issue: We need to spend more time in nature. Which answer makes the most logical and precise counterclaim? (4 points) Spending time in nature promotes clearer thinking and helps people make better decisions in all areas of life. Every student of science should spend time walking in the woods. Observing plants and animals helps us change our focus from technology to nature. Connecting with nature is good; however, it is more important to maintain focus on work and other obligations.
Wait nevermind...I just have this last question left, but I dont know how I am gonna do it: In a well-developed paragraph, explain the differences in language that might exist in a dramatic play like Romeo and Juliet and an essay such as John Muir's "The Calypso Borealis." How does language influence the work as a whole? Use proper spelling and grammar in your response. (15 points)
@DullJackel09
Yea i can't help with this
itsOkay, thanks for looking at it though!
There is huge difference between the story "Romeo and Juliet" with "The Calypso Borealis." To start, they are written in two different time periods. "Romeo and Juliet" was written in the year 1595, while "The Calypso Borealis" was in the year 1924. In addition, they have different types of language. In "Romeo and Juliet," you have to read closely, to understand the meaning, while John Muir's essay is understandable, since it is more recent and close to our era. Language influences one's work as a whole because...
@phi can you help me with my response
do you think "because it benefits understanding" would go well?
I think the biggest difference is R&J is a play (entertainment), and the writer is trying to keep the audience entranced. He writes about stuff that people understand, stuff like love, fights, making mistakes. I think Shakespeare was easier to understand back when it was written, so I would not complain about it being hard to understand (for us).
ohhhhh so how should i write it then
I don't know about the calypso thing, but essays (I think) are more about persuasion or maybe teaching a point of view.
the essay was about his experience about finding a flower and how it had a great impact in him
a play has dialog (people talking to one another). That is a lot different from writing an essay.
OHHHHH OKAY! THANK YOU! How would I answer this question though: How does language influence the work as a whole?
I never understand these goofy questions. what language are they talking about? I guess they mean the style of writing/choice of words used ? (and not writing in Portuguese instead of English) in Shakespeare, we read the thoughts/sentences of people as they interact. It's about social interaction. in an essay, we probably see more complicated thoughts. Maybe more descriptions of things.
@phi you have been a lifesaver...thank you so much!!!!!!!!!
