What is 10s : 1 min in simplest form

OpenStudy (meowimacat):

I know how to do this, but I'm sure there are much more qualified people who can explain it to you. Let me tag some peoples.

OpenStudy (meowimacat):

Okay, I'll help. One minute is 60 seconds. So you can change the ratio to 10 seconds: 60 seconds, and then divide like you do the ratio thing.. (i can further explain)

OpenStudy (harrycraig):

Wow A PHD LEVEL QUESTION

OpenStudy (meowimacat):

-_- i'm bad at words so i never want to explain stuff... stahp XD

OpenStudy (meowimacat):

But after dividing it would be 1/6 obviously.. *sigh* i'm sorry my thinking skills suck

OpenStudy (harrycraig):

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

10 seconds : 1 minute 10 seconds : 60 seconds 1 second: 6 seconds 1:6 The idea is to write "1 minute" as "60 seconds" which is done on step 2. On step 3, we divide both parts by 10 to reduce the ratio. To further reduce, we divide both parts by the units "seconds" (step 4) to get the final answer of `1:6`
