Can some one please help me understand the vs graphs in physics.. Thinks that i need to understand are: the properties of the graph, what does the graph mean and translating one graph to another. velocity vs time acceleration vs time displacement vs time

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

Hint* \[\large v = \frac{\Delta s}{\Delta t}\] \[\large a = \frac{\Delta v}{\Delta t}\] Meaning the derivative of displacement, is the velocity....and the derivative of velocity is the acceleration

OpenStudy (karim728):

I got that, but the V vs T graph tells acceleration at a given time then what about the other graph what do they tell

OpenStudy (karim728):

my problem is.. in a given question, i look at the graph and all i see are line going up down getting steep, that is all see and nothing else.

OpenStudy (kainui):

That just means you need to spend more time looking at it, what are the axes labelled? What does that mean? If something says "distance" and the other axis says "time" then maybe ask yourself, "distance from what?" or "what does starting time look like and what does a later time look like?"
