The point on the wave will be accelerating and decelerating as it moves to and fro. The only way that my calculation works is if I assume that the question is asking for the time over a small distance centred on the centre of the oscillation, if you follow me. the travelling wave function treats x and t as independent-independent variables. so just set x to zero and solve like that similarly, set \(\phi\) to zero if it gets in your way it should become a calculator problem.
