OpenStudy (willowhart):

WILL MEDAL & FAN! Point P(−5, 2) is translated using the rule (x+3, y−1). What is the x-coordinate of P' ?

OpenStudy (worldunseen):

Do you what Point P(-5, 2) means?

OpenStudy (willowhart):

Yes. (x, y)

OpenStudy (worldunseen):

So, I were to put that point onto a graph, describe to me what it would look like.

OpenStudy (apath):

I understand this may be completely too late, but you add the translation to the current point P Point P (-5+3,2-1) can be simplified to Point P' (-2,1) The x coordinate in P' *keep in mind it's ordered (x,y)* should be -2.
