OpenStudy (rikiricardo):

An opposition to current flow that occurs in alternating current circuits is called?

OpenStudy (ljetibo):

Lenz law describes how an induced current will always have the opposite direction the the emf of the circuit. However, if there is no induction, or self-induction even, in the circuit this current will never appear. In ideal circuits this is the case, in realistic circuits there is always some self-induction at least. Maybe that answers your question?

OpenStudy (radar):

I believe the term that is asked for is "impedance." This the opposition offered to AC (alternating current) which includes both resistance and reactance.

OpenStudy (reneg2k_2):

impedance

OpenStudy (rikiricardo):

Thanks guys that answer help me out to understand the subject.

OpenStudy (ljetibo):

Ah, sry to be the one to give the wrong answer here, but ignore mine, I should've deleted it. Impedance is the correct answer.
