OpenStudy (shanegrl):

can someone help me figure out this question. Let f(x) = -2x - 7 and g(x) = -4x + 3. Find (f o g)(-5) A.-9 B.23 C.-53 D.3

OpenStudy (jtug6):

You should think of (f o g)(-5) as f(g(-5)). So use x = -5 for g(x) first and plug that in to see what you get first.

OpenStudy (jtug6):

So what is g(-5) then?

OpenStudy (shanegrl):

I haven't done this in almost a year i dont even know how to set it up anymore

OpenStudy (jtug6):

Ok well g(-5) is just saying that you need to use x = -5 for the function g(x) that's given. So just plug -5 into g(x) which would be g(-5) = -4(5) + 3

OpenStudy (jtug6):

And actually that's -4(-5) + 3 ^^
