I would say first that adulthood is socially seen as when someone finishes school. Finishing school has nothing to do with adulthood, knowing that there are teens and adults still in school but that is the way society sees it. This is why it is more of a concept than science. I don't know if you get where I'm going and that was just one example but hope it helps!
