OpenStudy (katherinkoon):

i think it's d

OpenStudy (moldybubblegum11):

do you know how to add fractions?

OpenStudy (katherinkoon):

why do you ask

OpenStudy (moldybubblegum11):

i was going to explain how to but i can just figure it out

OpenStudy (moldybubblegum11):

21 and 24/15

OpenStudy (katherinkoon):

you can explain how or just give me the answer

OpenStudy (moldybubblegum11):

so its 22 11/15

OpenStudy (moldybubblegum11):

to figure this out you need a common denominator, to get that you need to make the 3 a 15

OpenStudy (moldybubblegum11):

all you have to do is multiply three by five. and because your doing that you have to also multiply the numerator (top number) by 5

OpenStudy (moldybubblegum11):

than it would be 7 2/15 + 5 10/15 + 9 13/15

OpenStudy (moldybubblegum11):

the best way to solve this is by adding the whole numbers first. so add 7, 5 and 9. that equals 21

OpenStudy (moldybubblegum11):

next you have to add the fractions. once you add them up the answer will be 21 25/15

OpenStudy (moldybubblegum11):

but thats an improper fraction, you have to turn it into a whole number.

OpenStudy (moldybubblegum11):

to do that subtract 25 by 15. the answer is 10

OpenStudy (moldybubblegum11):

the answer is 1 10/15

OpenStudy (moldybubblegum11):

all you have to do is add 1 10/15 to 21

OpenStudy (moldybubblegum11):

the final answer is 22 10/15
