OpenStudy (alorsondanse):

On which interval(s) is the "f" increasing and decreasing? using the graph above

OpenStudy (alorsondanse):

I believe it's (-4,infinity) but i don't know how to put it in the terms of x

OpenStudy (vuriffy):

You don't put it in terms of x.

OpenStudy (vuriffy):

Interval notation is ( blank , blank )

OpenStudy (alorsondanse):

the professor wrote the question like this on which interval(s) is "f" increasing and decreasing? Give your answer in interval notation (in the terms of x)

OpenStudy (vuriffy):

Well it has 4 then decreases all the way to -4. To then increase again.

OpenStudy (alorsondanse):

so how would i answer the question in the correct format?

OpenStudy (vuriffy):

(0,4) -> (-4,4) -> (-4, infinity) I believe what you stated was correct.
