OpenStudy (sparklestaraa):

What is the slope of the line between (3, -4) and (-2, 1)?

OpenStudy (3mar):

The slope of a line passes through two points could be calculated from the formula: \[m=\frac{ y_2-y_1 }{ x_2-x_1 }\] let \[x_1=3,x_2=-2, y_1=-4,y_2=1\] Then the slope will be

OpenStudy (3mar):

\[m=\frac{ 1+4 }{ -2-3 }=\frac{ 5 }{ -5 }=-1\]

OpenStudy (sparklestaraa):

(5,-5)

OpenStudy (3mar):

Hope that helps.

OpenStudy (3mar):
