Calculate distance travelled in metres by an object moving at 4m/s for 2 mins. I get you do 4 x 120 = 480, but what unit is it in? How do I get it to metres?

OpenStudy (osprey):

hi. you seem to have done it correctly. In converting the 2 minutes into 2x60 seconds you've also "unified the units", as it were. So, m/s time s is metres. In other words, it's already IN metres, I think. If I'm right, then this looks like a case of tripping over your shoelaces, so to speak. You've got the correct answer, but you don't KNOW that it's correct, because you're not sure quite how you got there. If i'm right, it's a common problem. Thanks, I get it now!
