OpenStudy (mikehowk57):

If a = 3b3/c, what happens to a when b is doubled? If a = 3b3/c, what happens to a when both c and b are doubled?

OpenStudy (kittiwitti1):

first one: double b and you get this\[a=\frac{3(2b)3}{c}\] second one: double both c and b... you get this\[a=\frac{3(2b)3}{2c}\]

OpenStudy (kittiwitti1):

@mikehowk57 Sorry, didn't see the other one, but here's your answer

OpenStudy (mikehowk57):

So is it cut in half?

OpenStudy (kittiwitti1):

Technically, no, because you just cancel out the 2's in the second one

OpenStudy (mikehowk57):

Oh okay.. Can you help me on this one? im studying for my big test.. If m represents an even number, which expression would represent on odd number? (Hint: pick a number that would work for m and plug it in each answer.)

OpenStudy (kittiwitti1):

\(m\pm1\)

OpenStudy (kittiwitti1):

Lol, idk. But if you have odd numbers, the even numbers are right next to the odd one, yeah?

OpenStudy (mikehowk57):

so would 5m+1 work?

OpenStudy (kittiwitti1):

Uh... lemme see given m=5 (example) 5(5)+1 is 25+1 = 26 if m=7 5(7)+1 is 35+1 = 36

OpenStudy (kittiwitti1):

Yeah. I think that works

OpenStudy (mikehowk57):

Good thanks!
