Geometry answers!

NvidiaIntely (nvidiaintely):

Can someone help me solve this multiple choice?

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

now we are looking to find how many miles are in five inches. Since we know the inches value, but our miles value is uncertain, we will call that x. Then, the best way to set this up is to line up the units so that they match each other. Here's a little visual of what I mean: \(\Large\frac{inches}{miles}\) = \(\Large\frac{inches}{miles}\)

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

SO @NvidiaIntely based from what I've just told you, can you solve the problem? Or are you still confused?

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

\(\Large\frac{15~miles}{1~inch}\)=?

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

you would still be lining up your units

OpenStudy (jiteshmeghwal9):

unitary method is one useful way to determine the proportion which should be used

OpenStudy (jiteshmeghwal9):

1 inch ---> 15 miles 5 inch -----> x miles
