OpenStudy (shootingstar28):

Which of the following words is masculine? El libro La mochila La maestro La silla

OpenStudy (shootingstar28):

Erm I'm thinking either A or C @Whitemonsterbunny17

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

Well usually feminine words end with an "a" and masculine words end with an "o" which is how I believe you are left with A and C. To help clear the answer, "libro" means book (even though it's neutral), as changing it to "libra" would mean "pound". "Maestro" means "teacher", as does "maestra".

OpenStudy (shootingstar28):

So the answer would be A?

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

Not quite. Most words ending in \(\bf\color{magenta}{a}\) are \(\bf\color{magenta}{feminine}\). Most words ending in \(\bf\color{cornflowerblue}{o}\) are \(\bf\color{cornflowerblue}{masculine}\). "Libro" is a non gender specific word, meaning "book." "Maestr\(\bf\color{cornflowerblue}{o}\)" means teacher (masculine). "Maestr\(\bf\color{magenta}{a}\)" means teacher (feminine).

OpenStudy (shootingstar28):

So my answer is C... :')

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

Yes, that's \(\cal\color{lime}{correct!~\bigstar}\) :)

OpenStudy (shootingstar28):

Thank u sooo much :3
