Yup, floating garden boxes. Positioned in rows so they could be maintained by pulling alongside in a boat. Tenochtitlan was built on an island in the middle of lake Texcoco. This system added to the amount of land they could cultivate. So, did the Maya do that too? And what kind of skills would you need to figure out such a system? I'll give you the last one. quipu were used for record keeping.
