@kevin @will.h @atsie
This is EXACTLY like the last one that @Will.H did for oyu except you need to use cos 48 = c/51 (adjacent /hypotenuse)
How do I do that? Idk trig formulas could you explain how exactly to use them?
There is no other way to solve this, except by drawing it accurately
I'm super sorry to be such a letdown @NvidiaIntely But I'm actually really awful at this kind of math. To be entirely honest, I'm starting my entire first math course of high school over completely this year which I already did last year and I'm supposed to be going into 11th grade. So as of now, I think I'd misguide you entirely and I don't want to do that. I'm really sorry again. :/
use your calculator to find the value of cos 48° THEN \[\cos (48) = \frac{ c }{ 51 }\]
Cross multiply and that's all
keep the following rules in mind of trig functions Sin x = opposite/hypotenuse Cos x = adjacent/hypotenuse Tan x = opposite/adjacent SOH CAH TOA anyways after doing cross multiply you should have an equation and to be able to solve for c
questions?
how do you multiply cos 48 * 51? I know it's not the same as 48 * 51, right?
cos(48) is just a number use your calculator to find it
yes the value of cos48) is 0.669130
I think I get it now, thanks Will!
Oh ok, so I find that value on a calculator by putting 48 and then clicking on cos.
you welcome Nv Did it work quickstudent? usually you 1st press on cos and then enter the desired value
She's using Windows 8 Home :P
Oh well, that's how my calculator works. I got the right answer:)
Great! C you guys
Thanks!
