OpenStudy (weaver):

OpenStudy (danjs):

The perimeter of a rectangle is the sum of 2 longer length sides and 2 shorter width sides P = 2*L + 2*W The length is 3 shorter than 1/3 the width L = (1/3)*W - 3

OpenStudy (danjs):

You can put that second equation into the first for the Length L. P = 2*L + 2*W \[\large p=2*(\frac{ 1 }{ 3 }*W-3)+2*W\]

OpenStudy (weaver):

2/3

OpenStudy (danjs):

Simplifying \[p = \frac{ 2 }{ 3 }W-6+2W\] Put the 2W as a fraction over 3 \[p=\frac{ 2 }{ 3 }W-6+\frac{ 6 }{ 3 }W\] add \[p=\frac{ 8 }{ 3 }W-6\]

OpenStudy (danjs):

They want 'x' instead of W for width
