Quick Geometry Question
recall for the 45-45-90 triangles, the two legs are the same, and the diagonal is root(2) times the leg. |dw:1475043233862:dw|
so the answer would be 14ft?
or you can see, sin(45)=14/BC \[\sin(45) = \frac{ \sqrt{2} }{ 2 }=\frac{ 14 }{ BC }\]
no,the diagonal is root(2) times the leg length BC=\[14\sqrt{2}\]
ah okay sorry
how did you get the square root though?
You can just remember for the 45-45-90 triangle, the two legs are the same length, and the diagonal is root(2) times the leg length. or if you look at one of the trig functions, sin(45) and cos(45) both are root(2)/2 and the opposite side over the hypotenuse \[\sin(45)=\frac{ \sqrt{2} }{ 2 }=\frac{ 14 }{ BC }\]
oh okay whoops
thank you so much you were a big help!
