The equation for this parabola is y = -x2 + 36. FULL QUESTION AND IMAGE WILL BE BELOW

OpenStudy (destinykiara99):

After a dreary day of rain, the sun peeks through the clouds and a rainbow forms. You notice the rainbow is the shape of a parabola. 1. The equation for this parabola is y = -x2 + 36. IMAGE ATTACHED 2. Create a table of values for a linear function. A drone is in the distance, flying upward in a straight line. It intersects the rainbow at two points. Choose the points where your drone intersects the parabola and create a table of at least four values for the function. Remember to include the two points of intersection in your table. 3. Analyze the two functions. Answer the following reflection questions in complete sentences. • What is the domain and range of the rainbow? Explain what the domain and range represent. Do all of the values make sense in this situation? Why or why not? • What are the x- and y-intercepts of the rainbow? Explain what each intercept represents. • Is the linear function you created positive or negative? Explain. • What are the solutions or solution to the system of equations created? Explain what it or they represent.

I have an idea as to what to do but could use any assistance!!! Words problems really loose me, math is not my strongest subject lol

OpenStudy (wholock):

Okay, so basically it is giving you the equation of the parabola, and you are going to create a linear equation to model a drone passing through, since it says it is flying upward, you can't have a y=5 answer. So to begin, simply take two points off the parabola that will result in a line with a positive slope.

OpenStudy (destinykiara99):

I got a line equation of y=9x+56 Intersecting points of (-5,11) and (-4,20) I just am not sure I am doing this correct

OpenStudy (destinykiara99):

As far as creating a table of values, etc. I am a bit confused

OpenStudy (wholock):

You're doing fine! Use the slope formula to find slope and then substitute (0, 0) to find the equation of the line. You have the right equation!

OpenStudy (wholock):

All you have to do in creating a table of values is take points off of that line (the linear one you just made) and put them in an (x, y) table, and it has to include the points you chose for the slope formula

OpenStudy (destinykiara99):

Is there a site or anything where I could plug in my numbers and it create a table that I can place into my document?
