What's your question?

OpenStudy (loveneenah):

Susan makes 5 fruit cups for the picnic .In each cup she has 5 strawberries and 3 kiwi. Joanna uses the same number of total fruit s to make her strawberry and kiwi cups. But she makes 4 cups. In each cup she uses 8 strawberries . How many kiwis are in each fruit cup that joanna makes?

OpenStudy (loveneenah):

I've been stuck on this for 2 hours!

OpenStudy (sapphiremoon):

Ah. This is a question for the mathematics group, but I can help you with it. Since Susan made 5 cups with 5 strawberries and 3 kiwis, she used 5 x (5+3) = 5 x 8 = 40 total fruits. We know that Joanna used the same amount of fruit, but she made four cups. That means each cup has 40 / 4 = 10 fruits in it. Since she used 8 strawberries in each, that means she used 10 - 8 = 2 kiwis in each fruit cup.

OpenStudy (loveneenah):

Thank you so much!!!

OpenStudy (loveneenah):

I will fan you!
