Can somebody explain me how to get the formula for the general term in this arithmetic sequence. -10, -4, 2, 8, 14, ... I know d is 6 and a is -10 But I dont know how to get that into a formula :(

OpenStudy (jackthegreatest):

what does d and a stand for?

OpenStudy (dreamie98):

d stands for common difference and i have no idea what a stands for o3o I just know its like the first term or w.e

OpenStudy (jackthegreatest):

yep so at least you found the pattern

OpenStudy (jackthegreatest):

essentially, the nth number is: -10 + (n+6)

OpenStudy (dreamie98):
