Science again.... No one ever answers.... MEDALING! Why is it helpful to study the light that comes off stars? The light from a star can help us predict the weather. The light from a star tells us what shape the star has. The light from a star gives hints of what elements make up a star. The light from a star can tell us if there are planets near the star.

OpenStudy (danjs):

I think it is the third one.

OpenStudy (danjs):

like the absorbtion spectrum i think , off the top of my head

OpenStudy (sapphiremoon):

I agree. What science group are you putting things in and they're not being answered? I could help out, I'm good with astronomy.

OpenStudy (brooke..help00):

Earth Sciences

OpenStudy (sapphiremoon):

Just joined up, hopefully I can help you out in the future!

OpenStudy (xapproachesinfinity):

well isn't that light from any star have the same spectrum? then we would not tell what a star is made of

OpenStudy (sapphiremoon):

Different elements have different spectral lines, a spectrograph can separate different wavelengths of light generated by different elements, and astronomers (and chemists) can use that to tell what element is being burned.

OpenStudy (brooke..help00):

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who helped!

OpenStudy (sapphiremoon):

yw, lol.

OpenStudy (ovidia):

its C
