Say we want to find 20% of 10
We convert 20% to 0.20 by moving the percentage symbol two places to the left, in front of the 2.
Then we multiply 10 by 0.20 to get 2.
2 is 20% of 10

Using this example, can you do the same for this problem?
OpenStudy (shadowlegendx):
The percentage symbol turns into a decimal point when we move it like that

Do 0.2 x 76.48 to get the answer and please close this question.

I interpret this question differently. I'd let x be the food bill before the tip is added in.
Thus: basic food charge + 20% of basic food charge = total bill
x + 0.20x = $76.48
