Help with one question? http://prntscr.com/cpbe4c

OpenStudy (goku_1999):

My guess would be D y = -x 14 = -(-14) 14 = 14

OpenStudy (theoneandonly):

you sure?

OpenStudy (goku_1999):

Yeah, It's the only one that makes sense to me

OpenStudy (theoneandonly):

@phi do you agree with this answer?

OpenStudy (phi):

direct variation means you can write an equation y = k x (which means y is k times x) if we are given an (x,y) pair, we can figure out k in this case they say x=-14, y=14. use those numbers: 14 = k * -14 solve for k (divide both sides by -14) you get -1 = k now you know what k is for this problem use it in y= k x to get the formula

OpenStudy (welshfella):

y = kx is direct variation where k is a constant you can find k by substituting values:- 14 = k * -14 so k = -1 so y = -1x or y = -x option D is correct

OpenStudy (theoneandonly):

ok thank you all!
