The pic is on wikipedia too. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/c/c3/Medieval_market.jpg The four black hat guys are probably foreign traders, but definitely traders. The two selling have metal goods for sale. There are various types of metal and designs. They did not make them but got them in various places. The display case is temporary maybe mobile, where they set it up in each town they visit. The cloth seller is probably local. He is assisted by his wife/daughter. His wood cabinet is heavy and not one easily moved. The black hat trader is bargaining with him. Looks like he's offering coins/metal pieces of various types (an indication that he may be foreign) The shoe maker seems to be in front of his workshop. The wood checkout counter looks to be more permanent than the tables set up for the others. He has a sign and shoe lasts mounted on the wall. The door probably leads to his workshop. The guy in orange is probably a monk or priest. He has the tonsure on his head and he wears plain shoes. They all seem to wear the pointed shoes which was outlawed in many kingdoms. The are a symbol of the middle class and their rising economic power. I don't know what's up with the guy wearing leggings. He's barefoot. But he seems to have bought a pot instead of shoes. He is probably of the same social class as the cloth merchant since the are similarly dressed.
