I am willing to work. I want to learn. Topic: Algebra II Question will be uploaded + my insight once thread is open.

OpenStudy (yoongilife):

A number generator was used to simulate the percentage of people in a town who can skateboard. The process simulates randomly selecting 100 people from the town and was repeated 20 times. The percentage of people who can skateboard in the town is shown in the dot plot. Which statement is most likely true about the population of the town? Most likely, 50% of the town can skateboard. NO! About 30% of the town most likely can skateboard. Most likely, 15% of the town can skateboard. NO! Most likely, 20% - 35% of the town can skateboard. We see a strong central tendency at 30, so it’s between B and D, but is it accurate to say between % - %? I have yet toe encounter that…

I'm looking for a second opinion more than anything. I would appreciate any insight you many have to offer!

OpenStudy (yoongilife):

@mathmate I realize that you are in high demand, but if you get a chance in the future would you be willing to contribute your opinion. I apologize for tagging/nagging you. Nonetheless, thank you!

OpenStudy (yoongilife):

It would be more precise to say about 30% of the town, no?

OpenStudy (mathmate):

Agree! We're look for an estimate of the population. I would choose the median or the weighted average, which gives a single value. In this case both are identical. The range that was given (20-35) is too wide to be really useful. Might as well say 15-35, and even then, there is no guarantee the population percentage falls in that range. As a note: I usually give higher priority to single-tags over multiple tags. I don't usually respond to mass tags, as too many cooks spoils the food.

OpenStudy (yoongilife):

Ah, ok! That's exactly what I was looking to verify. Thank you very much! I appreciate it.
