Create a paraphrase of the following sentence from “The Cold Equations:” She held the letters out to him. "Will you take care of these and see that they're enveloped and mailed?"
@Adoni
To paraphrase means to reword. So do you have any ideas on how to reword this?
As she held out the letters to him, she asked that he package and ship them carefully.
You're on the right track, yeah. What's another way to reword "As she held out the letters to him"?
handed?
Yes, that's good.
Thank you! I appreciate your help!! :)
For the other part though, rather than 'packaged', maybe try to stick with using the word envelope, as they are letters and not packages.
Also, you're very welcome, I'm glad to be of help. (:
Can you think of another way to reword the second part, using the word 'envelope'?
I got that one. I need help with another @Adoni
Create a paraphrase of the following sentence from “The Cold Equations:” There could be no alternative—but it required a few moments of conditioning for even an EDS pilot to prepare himself to walk across the room and coldly, deliberately, take the life of a man he had yet to meet.
So far I have come up with "Having no other choice, it took a couple minutes even for the rocketeer to ready himself.." but I am stuck on the second half.
So the rest is "...and coldly, deliberately, take the life of another man." What's another word for a cold person?
Or I could reword the first part to "The rocketeer took a couple minutes to ready himself, having no other option but to callously step across the room and intentionally abolish a stranger's life.
That works really well too. (:
Awesome :)
Thank you!
You're welcome. (: Let me know if you need help with some more. Until then, don't forget to choose the 'Best Response'!
