OpenStudy (lolipop_drum312):

Which ordered pairs are solutions to the inequality 2x+y>−4? Select each correct answer. (0, 1) (5, −12) (−3, 0) (−1, −1) (4, −12)

OpenStudy (blazeryder):

So what you do is plug in the x and y coordinates into the inequality.

OpenStudy (blazeryder):

Then solve and which ever inequality is true is the correct answer.

OpenStudy (lolipop_drum312):

oh like this 2(0) + um how do i do this

OpenStudy (lolipop_drum312):

do i change y to 1

OpenStudy (lolipop_drum312):

and put 4 on the other side

OpenStudy (blazeryder):

So the first one would look like this: \[2(0)+1>-4\]

OpenStudy (lolipop_drum312):

oh ok

OpenStudy (lolipop_drum312):

so it might be.. i keep thinking of C or B

OpenStudy (lolipop_drum312):

and this is multi choice btw

OpenStudy (blazeryder):

It would be b. This is because C would be -6>-4.

OpenStudy (blazeryder):

And -6>-4 would be false

OpenStudy (lolipop_drum312):

oh ok and could it also be C or is it A

OpenStudy (blazeryder):

Hold on....

OpenStudy (blazeryder):

I read the question wrong. So you would plug in the x and y coordinates into the equation. Then the ones that are true would be the answers. I thought it was an equation and not an inequality!

OpenStudy (blazeryder):

So there would be many answers and not just one

OpenStudy (lolipop_drum312):

yeah you're right it is multi choice

OpenStudy (lolipop_drum312):

so it would be B still tho right

OpenStudy (blazeryder):

A, B, and D are the correct answers.

OpenStudy (lolipop_drum312):

0.0 ah no wonder why i kept thinking of A thank you

OpenStudy (lolipop_drum312):

3 more than i'll answer the 4th one on my own i know that one

OpenStudy (blazeryder):

No problem! And sorry I got a little confused. Alright, please post them. I might not be able to answer them but I can try =)
