The diagram shows the graph of 3x + 4y = 12. The shaded figure is a square, three of whose vertices are on the coordinate axes. The fourth vertex is on the line. Find the length of a side of the square.

one approach you have a square so change in x = change in y means the lengths are the same the actual point for the vertex lies on the given line you know the slope of a line is the same for any 2 points on that line

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

I calculated the slope of 3x+4y=12 and got y = 3 - 3/4x... I am assuming the slope is -3/4. But I cannot figure out a proper length of the square
