This means that the bird descends 350 m each minute. C. The slope is 350. This means that the bird ascends 350 m each minute. D. The slope is 500. @mathmale

OpenStudy (mathmale):

You'll need to find and apply the slope formula here. Take the 2 given points on this line and insert their coordinates properly into the slope formula.

OpenStudy (shadowknight):

thats what I don't get I am confused on how to do the formula

OpenStudy (vuriffy):

Let me tell you this from the graph: it starts at 6,000 then ends at 0 after the given time of 10 minutes, which means the slope is descending.

OpenStudy (vuriffy):

That cancels out C and D for you which are increasing slopes.

OpenStudy (shadowknight):

yeah I canceled those out but I am confused with the other part

OpenStudy (vuriffy):

At 2 minutes, it is at 5000 meters, correct?

OpenStudy (vuriffy):

At 5 minutes, it is at 3500 meters, correct?

OpenStudy (shadowknight):

yeah

OpenStudy (vuriffy):

How many points are in between those points? Two correct?

OpenStudy (shadowknight):

28500

OpenStudy (vuriffy):

...Two points... corresponding with the time.

OpenStudy (vuriffy):

Just test the values. Let's try -500. 2,5000 3,4500 4,4000 5,3500 Which works.

OpenStudy (vuriffy):

A is the correct answer.

OpenStudy (shadowknight):

oh ok I will try to work it out again on my own thx

OpenStudy (shadowknight):

can u help me with 2 more?

OpenStudy (vuriffy):
